Preparation Tips For Physics

Scoring maximum marks in Intermediate has become much more important these days due the weightage of Inter marks in both EAMCET and in ISEET. Most of the students do not aspire for good marks due to lack of self-confidence. However, even average and below average students also can score maximum group total by following easy tips -

Tips for preparation
  • Intermediate question paper has three sections a). Very Small Answer Questions (VSAQ), b.) Small Answer Questions (SAQ) and c). Long Answer Questions (LAQ). Most of the students focus on SAQ and LAQ. However cent per cent marks i.e. 60/60 marks can be obtained only when students have grip on VSAQ too.
  • Go through the academy books extensively. Read them as many times as possible.
  • Write down important conceptual points and formulae in a note book so that this can be used during revision few days before exams.
  • Make a complete list of derivations, formulae and experiments in your syllabus and keep that list handy.
  • While solving a derivation, try and comprehend the logic behind the derivations
  • Revise the concepts regularly.
  • If you do not like the numerical part, start early. Get used to the numerical part. Solve each and every numerical in the academy book (both, solved and unsolved). A Physics paper without a numerical is like a comb without teeth.
  • Do not forget to mention the S.I units (if any) of all physical entities.
GENERAL TIPS FOR SCORING GOOD MARKS
  • Go through the paper before answering.
  • Answer all VSAQ at one place anywhere in the answer sheet.
  • Draw the neat out line diagrams (especially for topics like ray optics), wherever required or asked for.
  • Present all answers with very neat and legible hand writing.
  • While working on a numerical problem, the answer should contain formula, substitution of data, calculation and answer with appropriate unit.
  • Work out neat calculations in the margins.
  • During the exam, try to write your descriptive answers in points and give pictorial or graphical illustrations wherever possible. It enhances visibility.
  • Presentation of your answer in good hand writing is an added advantage. Even if your hand writing is not good, write the answers legibly with proper spacing between the words.
  • Before answering long answer type questions frame a skeleton of the answer in the margin. This avoids the missing of any part of the answer.
  • Answer the very short questions very briefly as per the given question.
  • If the answer is supported by the diagram, then the following points are to be remembered.
  1. Placement of the diagram.
  2. Proper labeling
  3. Appropriate reference of the diagram in the answer.
  4. Specific requirements in the diagram depending on the type of question e.g.
  • Path of the rays or positions of object/image for questions on optics.
  • Directions of electric current in electricity questions.
  • Location of charge in electrostatics questions.
  • Use of graphs depicting requirement.
