Vocabulary Set

 amateur - [emeteer] ఎమటీర్ × professional [players, actors, singers]
  Eg. Many perform plays as amateurs.
  Eg. That artist is just an amateur.
 
  diaspora:  సంతతి the dispersion or spread of any people from their original homeland.
  Eg. Indian diaspora across the world is quite big; wherever you go, you find Indians working or doing business.
 
  embrace > < embarrass
  embrace
is like hug. కౌగలించుకొను, హత్తుకొను.
  Eg: The mother embraced her son as he was away for a long time.

  embarrass
  ఇబ్బందిపడు, ఇబ్బందిపెట్టు
  Eg. Please do not embarrass me by praising me unduly like that. Eg. The new couple were very embarrassed when an old relation passed a crude joke on them.
 
 movie > < film > < picture > < cinema > < theatre
  Movie బదులు చాలామంది picture, cinema అంటారు. A "movie" refers to a motion picture, but "the movies" or a "movie theater" refers to the place in which one sees films. With digital projection, film rolls are progressively becoming obsolete (outdated) in cities. Traditional film rolls are only for small towns.
  
  Cinema hall (Indian expression). Cinema అంటే సరిపోతుంది Cinema House అని కూడా అనవచ్చు.
  
  Theatre is a place where plays are enacted. Eg. Ravindra Bharati, Harihara Kala Bhavan in Hyderabad. Tummalapalli Kala Kshetram in Vijayawada etc.
  
  Film / Picture are colloquial terms for a movie. They are Indianisms. But a photograph is called picture.
  Eg. A picture of him is hung on the wall.
 
 usher > < gate keeper

  మనం cinema houses /play housesలో gate వద్ద ఉన్న వ్యక్తిని gatekeeper వ్యక్తిని అంటాము. కానీ  ‘usher' అనాలి.
