The High Court directed the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) not to proceed with the appointments until further orders are issued. However, the court allowed the ongoing certificate verification process to continue as scheduled.

The commission has also been ordered to submit a counter-affidavit along with the logged history of the candidates’ answer sheets. The next hearing on the matter is scheduled for April 28, 2025.

Allegations by Candidates in TSPSC Group 1 Mains

A total of 20 candidates, including government employees like K. Parsharamulu from Siddipet, filed a petition citing lack of transparency in the Group 1 Mains 2024 evaluation, which was conducted between October 21 and 27, 2024.

They claimed that

  • Their answer sheets were not properly evaluated.
  • The General Rank List was released with discrepancies.
  • Some candidates received higher scores initially, but saw reduced marks after recounting, raising doubts on the evaluation method.

They demanded:

  • A re-evaluation of the answer scripts or
  • A re-conduct of the TSPSC Group 1 Mains exam 2024 under High Court supervision.

Court Observations and TSPSC's Response

Senior advocate Rachana Reddy, appearing for the petitioners, highlighted irregularities such as over-representation from two Hyderabad centers, a candidate's score reducing from 482 to 422 after recounting, discrepancies in the number of candidates appearing for mains.

TSPSC’s counsel PS Rajasekhar defended the process, stating that variations in hall ticket numbers and selection ratios are normal. Some candidates indulged in forgery to alter marks, for which show cause notices were already issued.

High Court Orders on TSPSC Group 1 Recruitment

  • Interim stay on appointment orders until further notice.
  • Ordered submission of the current employment status of petitioners.
  • Warned that strict action will be taken if irregularities or false submissions are proven.
  • Suggested that the candidates file a separate petition regarding mark recounting.
