10,954 GPO Vacancies Approved in Telangana Revenue Department

As per official reports, the state government has given a green signal to fill 10,954 GPO posts through direct recruitment. This marks a major decision to restructure and revive the rural revenue system by appointing Gram Panchayat Officers across all districts.

Initially, there were discussions to absorb eligible candidates from the existing VRA (Village Revenue Assistant) and VRO (Village Revenue Officer) categories. However, due to legal challenges and concerns about seniority and service loss, the government is now planning a fresh recruitment process.
