A national survey has revealed that private school fees in India have increased by 50% to 80% between 2022 and 2025, affecting thousands of families. Around 36% of parents reported a fee hike of 50–80%, and 8% said the increase crossed 80%. Only 13% said there was no hike at all.

The survey covered 31,000 parents across 309 districts. Major cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru reported increases of 10% to 30% for the 2025–26 academic year.
