Institute of Indo-Pacific Studies at Osmania University

The Center for Indo-Pacific Studies will be inaugurated at Osmania University from this academic year. Representatives of Telangana State Council of Higher Education and Osmania University, led by State Planning Commission vice-president Vinod Kumar, discussed the issue with officials from the External Affairs Ministry's economic relations department in Delhi. Professor Limbadri, Chairman, Higher Education Council, Prof. Venkataramana, Vice-Chairman, OU Vice-Chancellor, D. Ravinder, explained to the State Department that Osmania would be in favor of Indo-Pacific Studies.

Foreign Ministry officials have promised to help set up the center. Officials said they plan to set up an Indo-Pacific Institute of Studies at the Center for International Programs (OUCIP) under OU. Foreign Ministry officials will visit OU to finalize the modalities for the management of the institute.
Funding from the Department of Social Justice
The OU said in a statement that Dr. R Subramaniam, secretary of the varsity's Civil Services Academy, Skill Development Center, had been assured of allocation of funds from the Union Ministry of Social Justice for hostels.
