IGNOU invites applications for admissions in Japanese language programme

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited students to apply for admissions for a certificate in the Japanese language Programme.
The programme, which aims to teach beginners the basics of the Japanese language, has self-learning material (SLM) integrated with audio-visual components, the university said.

Shivaji Bhaskar, the coordinator of the programme, said it will be available in all the regions through the respective regional centres and is open to anyone above 18 years of age, who has cleared the Class 12 board examination and has a knowledge of English.

“With ever-growing relations between India and Japan, learning the Japanese language will certainly give an advantage to the learners in today’s job market,” School of Foreign Languages’ director Anju Sahgal Gupta said.

The last date for admission to the programme is August 15.
