- OCEANS conference is a bi-annual event of global marine researchers.
- It was hosted in India, for the first time.
- Department of Ocean Engineering of is coordinating the OCEANS 2022 conference, on behalf of Marine Technology Society and Institution of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (IEEE) Ocean Engineering Society.
- The OCEANS 2022 conference was held in hybrid mode. It had 400 presentations by delegates on topics like climate change, global warming, marine pollution, micro-plastics, vagaries of weather and combating coastal erosion. It was a four-day event that started on February 21, 2022.
