The ‘Stree Manoraksha Project’ has been launched by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD)in collaboration with NIMHANS Bengaluru. This was launched with the aim to improve women’s mental health across India.
This project will focus on capacity building of OSC (One-Stop Centre) functionaries the techniques and tools of how to handle cases of women approaching the OSC, especially those who have experienced violence and distress, with care and sensitivity.
During the COVID period, the One Stop Centres did an excellent job.
At present there are 700 OSCs operating in the country.
People who are working in these OSCs will also be trained to properly operate the Self Defence Shaheed Women Helpline.
Women can get help with medical, legal, and criminal issues at the one-stop centre. The training program will also be provided in all regional languages so that it becomes easy to understand.
A website has also been created by NIMHANS which has a lot of information regarding the training.
