MGNREGA Wage Rates Revised by Rural Development Ministry

The Union Ministry of Rural Development announced a revision to wages under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) on March 27th, 2024.
This revision came after receiving clearance from the Election Commission, despite the ongoing Lok Sabha elections and the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) being in effect.
Varied Increases Across States: Wage hikes differ from state to state. Haryana offers the highest daily rate for unskilled workers at Rs 374, while Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland have the lowest at Rs 234.
Sikkim Panchayat Revisions: Three panchayats in Sikkim - Gnathang, Lachung, and Lachen - will also see adjustments to their wage rates under MGNREGA.
