US markets jumped more than 1 percent as investors appeared relieved about the Federal Reserve’s stance on tapering stimulus and raising interest rates.
Upbeat outlooks from Accenture and Sales force helped bolster the market, while the US Food and Drug Administration late Wednesday authorized a booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for those 65 and older.
Also helping sentiment, concern about contagion from China Evergrande continued to ease. So, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 507 points, or 1.5 percent, to end at 34,765. The S&P 500 climbed 53 points, or 1.2 percent, to close at 4,449. And the Nasdaq Composite added 155 points, to 15,052.
