HM Amit Shah to inaugurate National Tribal Research Institute in New Delhi
- Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the National Tribal Research Institute in New Delhi today. The inaugural event will be part of 'AzadiKaAmritMahotsav' celebration by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. NTRI will be a premier national level institute and become the nerve-centre of tribal concerns, issues and matters in academic, executive and legislative fields.
- It will collaborate and network with reputed research institutes, universities, organizations as well as academic bodies and resource centres. It wil monitor projects of Tribal Research Institutes, Centres of Excellence and set up norms for improvement in the quality of research and training.
- Its other activities would be to provide policy inputs to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs as well as State Welfare Departments, design studies and programmes that improve or support socio-economic aspects of tribal lifestyles. Minister of Tribal Affairs, ArjunMunda, Law Minister KirenRijiju and other Union Ministers will grace the occasion.

Multinational Peacekeeping exercise 'Ex Khaan Quest 2022' commences in Mongolia
- A multinational peacekeeping exercise- Ex Khaan Quest 2022 featuring participation from military contingents from 16 countries including India commenced in Mongolia yesterday. President of Mongolia, UkhnaagiinKhurelsukh inaugurated the exercise.
- Indian Army is represented by a contingent from the Ladakh Scouts. The 14-day exercise is aimed at enhancing interoperability, building military to military relationships, developing peace support operations and military readiness among participating nations. The military exercise will enhance the level of defence co-operation among participating countries.
British PM Boris Johnson wins confidence vote initiated by fellow Conservative Party lawmakers over partygate scandal
- British Prime Minister Boris Johnson survived a confidence vote yesterday but a large rebellion in his Conservative Party over the so-called "partygate" scandal dealt a blow to his authority and leaves him with a struggle to win back support. In all, 211 Tory MPs voted they had confidence in the Prime Minister Johnson's leadership while 148 voted against him. The British Prime Minister won 59 percent of the vote, meaning he is now immune from a Conservative leadership challenge for a year.
- The vote share in support of Prime Minister Johnson was lower than the 63 percent received by former Prime Minister Theresa May when she won a party confidence vote in 2018, before resigning six months later over a Brexit deadlock.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman reviews progress in setting up of NARCL
- Finance Minister NirmalaSitharaman reviewed the progress in setting up of the National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL). It is the special purpose Asset Reconstruction Company for taking over the large value NPA accounts above 500 crore rupees from the banks.
- The Finance Minister was apprised of the progress made in this direction.The first set of accounts is expected to be transferred in the next month. The remaining accounts are proposed to be taken over within the third quarter of the current financial year.
Digital Payments in India expected to increase triple by 2026
- The digital payment markets in India are expected to increase triple from the current three trillion dollars to ten trillion dollars in the coming four years, which is by 2026.
- This was confirmed by the report issued by PhonePe after the collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), the report was titled ‘Digital Payments in India: A $10 trillion opportunity. The report highlights the growth of India’s digital payments in the last five years. The growth in five years has resulted in aiming those digital payments will aim to constituting two out of three payment transactions by 2026.

India successfully carries out training launch of Intermediate Range Agni 4 Ballistic Missile
- India successfully tested the Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile Agni-4 yesterday. The successful training launch of Agni-4, was carried out from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. The Defence Ministry said, the test was part of routine user training launches carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.
- The launch validated all operational parameters as also the reliability of the system. The Ministry said, the successful test reaffirms country's policy of having a credible minimum deterrence capability.

MIFF 2022: ‘Turn Your Body to the Sun’ bags Golden Conch award for the Best Documentary
- The Dutch documentary film “Turn Your Body to the Sun”, which tells the incredible story of a Soviet Prisoner of War, has won the prestigious Golden Conch award for the Best Documentary Film at MIFF 2022.
- Directed by Aliona Van der Horst, ‘Turn Your Body to the Sun’ brings to light the incredible life story of a Soviet soldier of Tatar descent, who was captured by the Nazis during World War II. Through his diaries as well as various personal and public archives and registries, his daughter Sana attempts to trace the path of her father to understand what made him the man she knew as a child.
