Prime Minister Narendra Modi ceremoniously presented with the Order of St Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, which was bestowed on him in the year 2019 at St Catherine’s Hall of the Moscow Kremlin.

Haj Committee Now Under Minority Affairs Ministry

The government has designated the Ministry of Minority Affairs as the nodal ministry for the Haj Committee, taking over from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This change includes new rules and the nomination of officers from various ministries to the committee.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs now oversees the Haj Committee, previously managed by the MEA.
The new rules are called the Haj Committee (Amendment) Rules, 2024, replacing “Ministry of External Affairs” with “Ministry of Minority Affairs” in the Haj Committee Rules, 2002.Handles matters related to the Haj Committee of India and the administration of the Haj Committee Act, 2002.

Ukrainian President, Polish Prime Minister Sign Bilateral Security Agreement In Warsaw

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk have signed a bilateral security agreement in Warsaw.
The agreement was signed yesterday a day before the start of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) summit, scheduled to be held in Washington today.
Ukrainian President said in a social media post that Defense cooperation and the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine are the main priorities of his government.
Mr. Zelensky said, he believes in a peaceful, strong Ukraine together with a peaceful, strong Poland.
The agreement spells out Poland’s continued defense support for Ukraine, especially air defense. Poland also pledged to support energy security for Ukraine, and participate in reconstruction.

RBI Approves Govind Singh’s Re-Appointment as MD & CEO of Utkarsh SFB

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the re-appointment of Govind Singh as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Utkarsh Small Finance Bank (Utkarsh SFB). His new term will commence on September 21, 2024, and will last for three years.
The approval was communicated through an RBI letter dated July 8, 2024. The re-appointment had already been approved by the board of Utkarsh SFB during a meeting on January 27, 2024. Singh’s current term is set to end on September 20, 2024.
Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited, initially known as Utkarsh Micro Finance Private Limited, is an Indian scheduled commercial bank regulated by the Reserve Bank of India under the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. The bank was included in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, via an RBI notification on October 4, 2017, followed by a Gazette Notification on November 7, 2017.
