Rajindar Singh Dhatt Receives Points of Light Award

- On a special occasion during the UK-India Week celebration, Rajindar Singh Dhatt, a veteran soldier, was presented with the prestigious Points of Light award by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak.
- Dhatt, currently based in Hounslow, southwest London, was born in pre-Partition India in 1921. During the Second World War, he joined the British Indian Army, demonstrating his dedication to serving his country. Through his commitment and hard work, Dhatt climbed the ranks and achieved the esteemed position of Havildar Major (Sergeant Major) in 1943.
- The Points of Light award, bestowed upon exceptional individuals like Dhatt, serves as recognition for their extraordinary contributions within their communities. It acknowledges their positive impact and aims to inspire others to find innovative solutions to societal challenges.
