Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palcios Crowned 72nd Miss Universe 2023

• Sheynnis Palcios of Nicaragua, a 23-year-old TV host and model, made history by winning the title of Miss Universe 2023. The 72nd Miss Universe event concluded with a spectacular ceremony at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador, on November 18, 2023.

• Palacios, the first Nicaraguan woman to claim the prestigious Miss Universe crown, captivated the judges during the final round. Her impressive articulation of admiration for 18th-century British philosopher Mary Wollstonecraft, emphasizing women's boundless possibilities, played a crucial role in securing her victory.

• Palacios dedicated her triumph to aspiring girls, stressing the importance of dreaming big with determination, perseverance, and passion.

• A seasoned pageant competitor, Palacios had previously won Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016 and Miss World Nicaragua 2020. She pursued mass communications and showcased her athletic prowess as a varsity volleyball player at the Central American University, Managua.
