  • Who was awarded Gandhi Peace Prize 2020?

    The Ministry of Culture stated that the Indian government has awarded Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman to the Gandhi Peace Prize 2020. The 2019 Peace Prize was awarded to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al-Said His of Oman.

    The Peace Prize was awarded before the Indian Prime Minister NarendraModi (NarendraModi) planned to visit Dhaka on March 26, 2021. He will participate in the celebration of the 100th birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman (Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman).

    He was the first president and later became the prime minister of Bangladesh. He is called the "father of the nation" or "Mujib". He was assassinated on August 15, 1975.

    Sultan Qaboos, the winner of the Gandhi Peace Prize in 2019, is the longest-serving leader in the modern Arab world. He died in January 2020. The last two years of this year (i.e. 2019 and 2020) won the Peace Prize. In 2018, it was announced for the past four years.

    The Gandhi Peace Prize is the International Holy Land Peace Prize, named after Mahatma Gandhi. The award is awarded by the Government of India. It was expressed as a tribute to Gandhi's ideals.

    The award was established in 1995 on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Mohandas Gandhi.

    This annual award is given to individuals and institutions to recognize their contributions to political, social and economic transformation through non-violence and other Gandhian ideals.

    It consists of ten million rupees in cash, a plaque and a citation. The award is open to everyone, regardless of race, nationality, gender or beliefs.

    The 2021 winners of the 67th National Film Awards were announced on March 22, 2021. Due to the covid-19 pandemic, the award ceremony was postponed for a year.

    The National Film Awards ceremony will be on May 3 every year. However, the award ceremony was not held in 2020. The winners were announced in a press conference at the National Media Center located in New Delhi on 22nd March.

    In 2021, there are 461 movies in the feature film category and 220 movies in the non-feature film category. Entries came from the 13 states that most liked movies.

    The National Film Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the film industry. The ceremony is held once a year.

    In 2019, the 66th National Film Awards was organized. In the 66th edition, the film "Uri: The Surgical Strike" won four awards.

  • President Kovind Presents Baton OfHonor To Ex-Puducherry LG Kiran Bedi
    Current Affairs President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday presented a Baton of Honour and a letter of appreciation to former Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. The Baton of Honor has the emblem of the Indian Republic.

    The former Puducherry Lieutenant Governor was recognised for her services to the Union Territory of Puducherry.

    "Dear brothers and sisters of Puducherry, I am happy to share with you the Baton of Honor and the letter of appreciation presented to me personally at Rashtrapati Bhawan by the Hon'ble President of India. With best wishes always for a #ProsperousPuducherry," Ms Bedi wrote on Twitter along with the video she posted of the ceremony.

    Kiran Bedi was removed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry on February 16 by the President of India and TamilisaiSoundararajan took additional charge as the Lieutenant Governor on February 18.

  • Who received the King Bhumibol World Soil Day - 2020 Award for ICAR?
    Ambassador of India to Thailand Suchitra Durai received the prestigious King Bhumibol World Soil Day - 2020 Award of Food and Agriculture Organization on the behalf of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

    Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand Dr.ChalermchaiSrion conferred the award in a Ceremony held at Bangkok.

    The international recognition was announced by the Food and Agriculture Organization, Rome on the eve of World Soil Day - 2020 in view of the ICAR’s excellent contributions in Soil Health Awareness on the theme Stop soil erosion, save our future during the last year.

    The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh organized a wide array of several programmes with great fervour and enthusiasm for the school students, farming community and general public.

    The Institute organized a massive awareness campaign for preserving SOIL - Our Mother Earth to commemorate the World Soil Day including March-Past and distribution of promotional materials on soil health to the participants.

    The Executives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Executives of Land Development, Soil and Fertilizer Society of Thailand, Soil and Water Conservations Society of Thailand, World Soil Association and Executives of other Departments under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives participated in the event.
