Preparation Plan

S.S.C Public exams are the first step in the life of every student. The examinations commence in about 100 days. But the time is short. The students have to prepare for all the subjects in this short period. Mathematics has more importance than the other subjects, when they are compared. If the students of 10th class have the perfect planning, they can get 10 grade points in this 100 days. There are 14 chapters in the 10th class mathematics subject. They are divided into 2 papers.
  • Among the 14 Chapters, Real numbers, sets, Probability and Statistics are very easy to understand and students score well.
  • Graph problems are asked from Polynomials and Pair of Linear Equations in two variables. Constructions are asked from similar triangles, Tangents and secants to a circle.
  • Though coordinate geometry and mensuration chapters are difficult, essay type questions are asked from these chapters.
  • There is no weightage to the chapters and questions are asked from any chapter.
  • In the CCE method, questions based on concepts are asked, but the chance of asking questions from the Text Book is very less.

Pattern of the Question Paper
10th class Mathematics question paper maximum 80 marks, i.e. 40 marks for paper I and 40 marks for paper II. In each question paper.. 1 marks questions 4; 2 marks questions 5; 4 marks questions 4 and multiple choice questions 20 (each carrying ½ mark) are asked.

Mode of Question Paper
The Question paper is prepared based on the 5 Academic standards viz
1. Problem solving
2. Reasoning - Proof
3. Communication
4. Connection
5. Visualization - Representation.

For examples

  1. Problem Solving: If A = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5}, B = {2, 4, 6, 8}, then find A n B.
  2. Reasoning's - Proof: If A = {1, 3, 5, 7, 9….}, B= {2, 4, 6, 8, 10}, then does A n B become disjoint set or not? Justify your answer.
  3. Communication: Express A n B in set building form
  4. Connection: If A represents set of multiply of 2, B represents set of multiples of 3, then A n B represents which set of multiples?
  5. Visualization and Representation: Draw a venn diagram for A n B
Plan for Preparation
  • Every day the students must allot 2-3 hours time for mathematics from today itself and prepare for the examinations under pleasant atmosphere.
  • Practice the complete chapters in 40 days and revise those chapters for 2 or 3 times in 20 days.
  • At the time of preparation, go through the previous question papers and observe the mode of questions and weightage to important chapters.
  • Put the learnt answers on paper and have self correction.
  • Solve problems according to the academic standards and also guess the types of questions. The students have to prepare in this direction.
  • Make a list of formulae of all chapters and recollect them regularly.
  • Discuss about the problems and their solutions with your teacher or friends, and take necessary advice from them.
  • Practice no of model papers and the problems from the previous question papers.

Preparation for Essay type Questions
In the each paper essay type questions give score 16 out of 40 marks. (i.e. 32 marks out of 80 in both the papers). So the students have to prepare for all the essay type questions chapter wise.
Average student to practice all the essay questions related to Real numbers, Sets, Statistics, Probability chapters. Along with them the students have to learn the important essay type questions from other chapters also. Theorems, graph problems, constructions are asked as essay type questions. So students have to prepare well and are instructed to go through the previous question papers for essay type questions.

Theorems Preparation
Theorems and applications based on theorems are asked under paper II. From similar triangles, tangents and secants to a circle chapters, students must learn basic proportionality theorem and Pythagoras theorem and their application related problems.

Preparation for Graph Problems
In paper I, graph problems are asked from polynomials and pair of linear equation in two variables. Graph problem is asked under essay type question. So students must practice all the selected sums on graph paper.

'Construction' Preparation
In paper II from similar triangles chapter, construction of similar triangle problems and from tangents and secants to a circle chapter - construction of tangent to a circle problems are compulsory questions. So students must practice well. These are easy to an average student also.

Bits Preparation
"Bit questions" are also important in the question paper. If the students prepare for bit questions, they can answer one mark questions easily. Practice all the bit questions given in the Text Book and also APRJC, Polytechnic competitive exam books. The students are advised to practice the bits given in the previous question papers. So bits preparation is done from now onwards, the students can score 10 grade points and also its is very easy to face all the competitive exams in future.

Preparation for average students
If the average students score at least 28 marks out of 80 marks from both the papers, they are declared "passed". The tips for average students to score pass marks..

  • Students have to prepare all the sums thoroughly from easy chapters like Real numbers, sets, statistics and probability. They have to practice all the sums in these chapters.
  • Graph problems and constructions are compulsory questions and so tho rough preparation is must.
  • Important sums from other chapters are also practice well.
  • It is better to practice the sums from the previous question papers.
  • Bits related to easy chapters also practice thoroughly.
How to score 10 grade points
Prepare well for all the sums in all the chapters and revise twice or thrice.
  • Time bound preparation is necessary while solving the problems from the old question papers and model papers.
  • To score 10 grade points bits very important role. So practice all the bits from the text book and APRJC, Polytechnic competitive exam books.
So the students are advised to prepare an action plan for 100 days and prepare thoroughly. Then they can score 10 grade points easily. The students are also suggested not to neglect these 100 days time and utilize, then only then succeed.
