NTA Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2024 - Eligibility:

Master's Degree or Equivalent:

• General/ Unreserved/ EWS candidates: Minimum 55% marks.
• OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third gender candidates: Minimum 50% marks.

Final Year Master's Students: Can apply provisionally, but must complete their degree with required marks within two years (or one year for "Admission to Ph.D. Only") to be eligible for JRF or Assistant Professor

PhD with Master's Completed Before 19 Sept 1991: 5% relaxation in marks (50% minimum) is allowed.

Four-Year Bachelor's Degree:

• Minimum 75% marks (or equivalent grade)
• Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/EWS as per UGC norms
• Eligible for JRF and Ph.D. admission, but not Assistant Professor
• Final year students can apply provisionally, but must complete degree within two years (JRF) or one year (Ph.D. only) to be eligible
• Can appear in any JOINT CSIR UGC NET subject for Ph.D., regardless of bachelor's degree discipline

Equivalence of Degrees:
Foreign or postgraduate diploma/certificate holders must verify equivalence with a Master's degree from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or Bar Council of India (for Law).

Other Eligibility Points:

• No need to submit documents or application printouts to NTA.
• Candidates are responsible for ensuring their own eligibility. Disqualification for ineligibility is possible.
• Selection of exam subject is recommended to be the same as your postgraduate degree. Related subjects are allowed if your specific postgraduate subject isn't on the list.

NTA Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2024 - Age Limit (As on 01/01/25):

• JRF: Maximum 30 years
• Assistant Professor: No upper age limit
• Admission to PhD: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Admission to PhD.
