Three Days School Holidays in February 2025:

In recent times, students have been receiving unexpected holidays, bringing joy to school and college students across the state. Now, students are in for a treat with a long weekend of holidays in February 2025.

February 14-16 Long Weekend for Students and Employees
A three-day holiday is expected from February 14 to 16, 2025. With this long weekend, both students and employees can look forward to a relaxing break. Let’s dive into the reasons for the holidays.

February 14 – Shab-e-Barat (Optional Holiday)
On February 14, the Telangana government has declared an optional holiday on account of Shab-e-Barat. Muslim minority educational institutions are expected to declare a holiday. Additionally, public and private schools with a high Muslim student population may also announce a break. Muslim employees can take leave on this day, with many government departments offering this optional holiday.

February 15 – Sant Sevalal Maharaj Jayanti
February 15 marks the birth anniversary of Sant Sevalal Maharaj, revered by the Banjara community. With a significant Banjara population in Telangana, there have been demands for an official holiday. Last year, the Telangana government declared this day as an optional holiday, and this year too, similar requests are being made. It is expected that educational institutions and employees from the Banjara community may receive a holiday on this day.

February 16 – Sunday Holiday
February 16, being a Sunday, will naturally be a holiday for all educational institutions and employees.

With this three-day long weekend, students and employees can enjoy a well-deserved break. However, these holidays may not apply to everyone, as they depend on specific institutions and sectors.

Upcoming Holidays in February 2025

Apart from the three-day holiday mentioned above, there are additional holidays later in the month:

  • February 26 – Maha Shivaratri: A government-declared holiday.
  • February 27 – MLC Elections (Graduate and Teacher Constituencies): A holiday is likely in Andhra Pradesh due to polling.
