New Medical Colleges 2024: Permissions Granted for Pulivendula and Paderu Medical Colleges
The NMC has approved 50 MBBS seats for each of these medical colleges for the 2024-25 academic year. This is a significant development as preparations to start classes with 150 seats each in Pulivendula, Adoni, Markapuram, and Madanapalle medical colleges had begun during the previous government's tenure.

The Chandrababu Naidu government had deliberately delayed securing approvals for these medical colleges with the intention of privatizing them. This resulted in the denial of permissions after the first round of inspections due to inadequate facilities at these locations.
Overcoming Obstacles
Despite the government's last-minute efforts to file an appeal and address the lack of facilities, the NMC initially denied permissions. However, after a virtual inspection, the NMC announced that 50 seats would be granted to Pulivendula if the state government provided an undertaking. Surprisingly, even without this undertaking, the NMC granted permissions.
