Former Chairman of DRDO, Dr. G Satheesh Reddy Joins BITS Pilani

With a distinguished career in defense technology, Dr. Reddy has played a pivotal role in advancing India’s defense capabilities through numerous high-impact projects and innovations during his tenure at DRDO. 

In his statement, Dr. Reddy said - “After nearly 39 years at DRDO, continuing my research with an academic institute is natural. BITS Pilani has long been a partner in research initiatives, and the establishment of Center for Research Excellence in National Security (CRENS) here is particularly a welcome step. I look forward to contributing to this center and collaborating with industry, security agencies, and startups to drive innovation and technological advancements for national security.”

In his new role, Dr. Reddy will be at the forefront of research and academic leadership and willfocus on guiding advanced research initiatives, in the Center for Research Excellence in National Security. Dr. Reddy’s experience is expected to strengthen the department’s research initiatives and elevate its academic programs. His addition is a testament to the university’s commitment to fostering excellence in engineering education and research.
