Breaking News: APPSC Group 1 Mains Cancelled: AP Govt. To Appeal
The High Court has issued an order to cancel 2018 APPSC Group-1 Mains exam. The court deemed the evaluation method employed by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) for the mains examination as incorrect.
Previously, a group of candidates lodged a petition in the High Court regarding the digital assessment of mains exam papers. The court ruled that reevaluating answer scripts multiple times goes against legal provisions. The court has instructed the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) to annul the roster of chosen candidates and conduct a fresh 2018 mains examination within a span of six months.
AP Govt. To Appeal
However, the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government is reassuring its employees not to be concerned. In 2018, the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) issued a notification for Group-1 positions, totaling 167 posts. Nevertheless, some applicants took their grievances to the High Court, alleging that their papers were re-evaluated digitally. APPSC countered, asserting that their evaluation adhered to established protocols. Following arguments from both parties, Justice Nimmagadda Venkateshwarlu decreed that the mains examination should be reconducted.
Despite this ruling, the AP government has moved to allay fears among the Group-1 employees, affirming that their benefits will remain safeguarded. It has announced its intention to challenge the judgment of the single judge in court.
